Allogeneic keratinocytes cultured on cell-free pig dermisstimulate wound healing when applied with the epidermal layerfacing the wound. Male keratinocytes were grafted into donorsites of three female patients. Biopsies were taken on days 4, 6 and 9. The Y-chromosome was found (using the fluorescence .I.in situ ./I.hybridization) in donor sites on day 4 and 6, but not on day 9. Conclusion: Allongeneic keratinocytes temporarily "take" to the wound and are replaced by the patient`s cells after about one week.
