Publikace přináší kritickou edici nejstarších předpisů statutární povahy Univerzity Karlovy z let 1360-1614. Tato statuta představovala pro středověkou univerzity základní pravidla vnitřní organizace a v případě fakult i závazné směrnice pro výuku, zkoušky a udílení akademických titulů. Neméně prvořadým pramenem jsou též Akta rektorů (Acta rectoratus), jež byla se statuty zapisována do průběžně vedené úřední knihy.

The publication presents the oldest university statutes and rectorial documents of Charles University from the years 1360-1614. In medieval universities the written constitution had statutory character and represented the key instrument of internal organisation. As for the faculties, it was also the directive for lectures, examinations and for the awarding of academic degrees. Of equal importance are the rectors’ agenda (Acta rectoratus), which were continuously recorded in the official annals.
