In his article, the author reflects on the possibility of limiting the production and consumption of chemical substances through the upcoming international convention on plastics. The author does this following a recent study, according to which there has been a significant crossing of planetary boundaries in relation to the so-called novel entities - chemical substances, plastics and heavy metals that do not occur naturally in nature.
