The current basal Emsian GSSP was defined in the Zinzil’ban Gorge (Kitab State Geological Reserve, Uzbekistan). The most promising sections for the redefined basal Emsian GSSP are situated in the Spanish Central Pyrenees and in the Prague Synform. The main task of the ongoing project (GA21-21829S) is to prepare a proposal for a basal Emsian GSSP candidate section in the Prague Synform. Biostratigraphic (conodont biostratigraphy), sedimentological (e.g., microfacies), ichnological, geochemical (INAA, EDXRF, δ13C and δ18O) and petrophysical (GRS measurements, magnetic susceptibility) data obtained from three sections in the Prague Synform are presented.
