Studie se zabývá obsahem a transmisí „obrazů” spojených s nuceným vysídlením a s ním souvisejícími procesy v třígenerační rodině. V rodině, která byla pro výzkum vybrána, má zkušenost s nuceným vysídlením po 2. světové válce zástupce nejstarší generace. Tento zástupce patří do rodiny, která byla německého původu a zůstala po roce 1945 v Československu. Analýza se zaměřuje na rodinnou paměť, přičemž autorky se neptají pouze na obsah vzpomínek osoby, která patří k tzv. generaci zážitku, ale také na transmisi těchto obsahů na další generace, stejně tak na to, jak následující generace s těmito vzpomínkami zacházejí. Zároveň analýza poukazuje na to, jak vzpomínky ovlivňují oficiální diskurzy vytvářené v České republice. Autorky zdůrazňují důležitost rodinné paměti pro vytváření identity osob, která na ní participují.

The study deals with the content and transmission of „images” connected with forced displacement and the relating processes in one three-generation family. The family was chosen based on the oldest generation´s personal experience with the forced displacement after World War II. The representative of the oldest generation belongs to a family of German origin remaining in Czechoslovakia after 1945. The analysis focusses on family memory, whereby the authors ask not only about the content of memories of persons who are part of the „generation of experience”, but also about the transmission of these contents down to the generation of children and grandchildren, as well as about in which way the follow-up generations came to terms with the experience of the oldest generation and show how the experience and narration are influenced by official discourses produced in the Czech Republic. The authors point out the importance of family memory to create the identity of persons participating in that memory too.
