The study deals with the beginnings of the modern image of Europe, other continents and the whole world in the Basel center of late medieval and Renaissance humanism. It analyzes the monumental work Cosmographia universalis (1550) by Sebastian Münster and evaluates its impact for the dissemination of the humanistic interpretation of international and intercontinental relations in the early modern Europe.
