Výstava představuje účastnice a účastníky pilotního kola mentoringového programu, jehož cílem je pomoci začínajícím vědkyním a vědcům s rozjezdem vědecké kariéry a ujasněním si jejího směřování. Pilotního ročníku se v roce 2015 zúčastnilo 56 mentees v doktorské či postdoktorské fázi akademické dráhy, kteří spolupracovali s 15 mentorkami a 6 mentory z různých vysokoškolských a výzkumných institucí v ČR a v zahraničí. Mentoringový program spočívá v osobním vedení začínajícího vědce či vědkyně (tzv. mentee) zkušenějším vědcem či vědkyní. Mentoři a mentorky představují svou akademickou dráhu, poskytují rady a zapojují mentees do svých profesních sítí. Kromě spolupráce s mentorkou či mentorem se mentees účastní kurzů zaměřených na profesní a osobní rozvoj.

The posters introduce the mentees and mentors who participated in the pilot phase of the programme. An early career scientist (mentee) teams up with a more experienced scientist (mentor) who then shares their experience with the mentee. The mentor presents their scientific career and experience in research, gives advice on starting a career in science and helps to find answers to the many questions that the mentee is faced with. The mentor also introduces the mentee to other members of the scientific community, helps them with career networking, provides workplace references or discusses developments and news from the academic field. The mentor and mentee tailor the content of the mentoring programme to suit the needs of the mentee, which gives the mentee an opportunity to concentrate on their subject of interest.
