Aus den historischen Kartenunterlagen und schriftlichen Forstwirtschaftsplänen ist mit der Software ArcGIS eine geografische Datenbank erstellt worden. Die Polygone der einzelnen Bestände werden mit den Tabellenangaben verknüpft. Die Datenbank umfasst zwei historische Zeitabschnitte (1840 und 1920) und die aktuellen Daten (Jahr 2007) des gesamten Nationalparks. Als Beispiel für die Nutzung der Datenbank sind hier die Änderungen in der Zusammensetzung der Holzarten und Altersklassen der letzten fast 200 Jahre beschrieben.

The geographical information database (geodatabase) of forest historical development was build based on scanned and newly vectorized historical forest maps and forest management plans using the ArcGIS software. The polygons representing forest stands were joined to rich attribute data. The database encompasses two historical layers (1840 and 1920) and the present data (2007) of the whole national park. Changes in age structure and tree composition during last 200 years were evaluated as the example of using such geodatabase.
