Temperature measurements in air thermal plasma based on the detection of its radiation in wide spectral intervals can bring new possibilities in the development of diagnostic methods with high temporal and spatial resolutions. We have studied experimentally and theoretically the optical radiation of air plasma and searched for spectral intervals where the integral radiation in the interval is characterized by monotonous dependence on temperature. The experimental and theoretical investigations presented in this work have shown that the spectral interval 565-605 nm may fulfil these requirements although theoretical results predict a relatively flat slope for the dependence of radiation vs. temperature in the interval 16000-20000 K.
