This paper presents a short history of common uses and traditional management in Hodonínská Dúbrava, a large ancient wood in southern Moravia. Until the late 18th century the Wood had extensive common uses and was managed as wood-pasture. After this time coppicing, later plantation forestry became dominant, and traditional management disappeared.
