The article analyses the shifting in the reception of history in the wider context of marxist interpretation of „tradition(s)“ after 1948 and after 1990. Apart from the reflection on the continuity and discontinuity of Czech historiography (after 1990) the article brings up the influence and the role of the Czech-Slovak-German and Czech-Slovak-French historical commissions.
