Modern space-based astrometric observations made by Hipparcos satellite are combined with ground-based observations made within Earth orientation programs during the 20th century. The resulting astrometric catalog EOC-4, with almost 5 thousand stars, contains not only linear proper motions but also periodic motions for a substantial part of the stars.

Moderní astrometrická pozorování družicí Hipparcos jsou kombinována s pozemskými pozorováními, pořízenými ve 20. století v rámci programů sledování orientace Země. Výsledný astrometrický katalog EOC-4 s téměř 5 tisíci hvězdami obsahuje nejenom lineární vlastní pohyby, ale též periodické pohyby u podstatné části hvězd.
