The impact of maternal exposure to environmental tobacco smoke on birth weight, low birth weight and intrauterine growth retardation according to self-reported smoking habits in a sample of 6.866 singleton births were studied. Data obtained via maternal questionnaires and medical records were evaluated by multiple regression and logistic regression procedures with adjustment for many covariates.
