Regional development in Czech Republic in the second half of the 90s is analyzed as regard spatial distribution of population, quality of environment, regional economic and social disparities and regional policy. Findings are compared with a scenario of regional development proposed by the author in 1993 and the fit is assessed. Expected trends of future regional development in Czech Republic are outlined.
