In the last years modern non-destructive prospection methods have been applied to the site of Abusir - satellite photography, geophysical examination and 3D-surface modelling of the cemetery and individual archaeological features. In this article it has been discussed the benefit of employing these methods in tandem with current archaeological field excavations. Mutual comparison and interpretation of the obtained data shows, that the individually used methods are complementary and consequently irreplaceable.
