A single pulse of an ArF excimer laser induces efficient oxidation of Sn (CH(3))(4) and Sn(CH(3))(4)/Ti(Oi-C(3)H(7))(4) in the gas phase. The direct deposition of stoichiometric tin dioxide, tin monoxide and mixed tin/titanium dioxide is demonstrated. Structural changes at 300 degrees C and 500 degrees C in both vacuum and air are studied by means of XRD and Raman spectroscopy. Transmission electron microscopy shows that the nanoparticles possess a mean diameter about 40 nm.
