    Autor interpretuje román Dar Vladimira Nabokova v kontextu Puškinova a Badelairova psaní. Hlavním motivem tohoto románu je motiv krystalu, metafora díla, jenž činí svět transparentním a viditelným. Transparence a evidence jsou základními vlastnostmi díla jako krystalu.

    In his article author interprets The Gift, novel written by Vladimir Nabokov, on the background of Pushkin and Baudelaire’s writing. He pays attention to motive of crystal as a metaphor of work. Transparence of work as a crystal makes a world visible. Transparence and evidence are basic attributes of work as a crystal. They are related to stereoscopy that creates three-dimensional image of the world. Stereoscopy is also point of view in Merleau-Ponty’s interpretation of perception (The Visible and the Invisible) and Ricouer’s interpretation of narrative (Time and narrative) in the Proust’s masterpiece In Search of Lost Time. Crystal as a metaphor of work captures and freezes the image of existence that has dissapeared. Present evidence and past existence make basic structure of work as a crystal.
