The technology of additively manufactured advanced surfaces for pump blades with subsequent LSP treatment.
Interní kód: 21/HiLASE 2022 ; 2022
Technické parametry: Installation of additively manufactured blades to the pump unit and verification of its performance in real conditions. Evaluation of pump characteristics with regard to the newly added blades. Following the 3D print and LSP treatment, the blades were CNC machined to it is the final hydraulic shape and installed in the pump. To ensure a valid comparison with the previously tested (CNC machined and LSPed) blades, the configuration of the testing was exactly the same as in 2020. I.e. closed circuit with a pressure vessel. The pump was then extensively tested for hydraulic and operational characteristics and long-term resistance to intensive cavitation regimes.
Ekonomické parametry: LSP surface treatment enables improvement of the Additive Manufacturing technology so it can be used for the production of critical parts and it can be used in the most demanding industries such as power generation, biomedical, etc. The advantages of the above-described process can be summarised in the following points: • Effectivity of the process from the energetic, financial and material points of view. • Possibility to produce individual geometries within one manufacturing cycle. • Additive manufacturing enables the use of special features such as a hollow inner core which may be filled with a lightweight structure. The surface of the blade can be defined to contain special elements enhancing the flow parameters of the liquid.
