Liposomes are one of the most important drug delivery vectors, nowadays used in clinics. In general, polyethylene glycol (PEG) is used to ensure the stealth properties of the liposomes. Here, we have employed hydrophilic, biocompatible and highly non-fouling N-(2-hydroxypropyl) methacrylamide (HPMA)-based copolymers containing hydrophobic cholesterol anchors for the surface modification of liposomes, which were prepared by the method of lipid film hydration and extrusion through 100 nm polycarbonate filters. Efficient surface modification of liposomes was confirmed by transmission electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, and gradient ultracentrifugation. The ability of long-term circulation in the vascular bed was demonstrated in rabbits after i.v. application of fluorescently labelled liposomes. Compared to PEGylated liposomes, HPMA-based copolymer-modified liposomes did not induce specific antibody formation and did not activate murine and human complement.

The participants (a total of 130 from 17 countries from all over the world) had a unique opportunity to present and discuss the results of contemporary genetics. A total of 61 lectures were divided in 9 symposia: Angiogenesis, Remodeling, Atherosclerosis, Cardiomyopathies, Hypertension, Conduction system and arrhythmias, Ischemia and protection, Mitochondria and Therapeutic approaches. The integral part of the meeting was the ceremonial presentation of the highest honour of the Academy, the Medals of Merit to outstanding cardiologists from Germany and Great Britain

II.

Our contribution deals with selected population and settlement characteristics, their spatial and temporal dynamics in the Giant Mountains (Krkonoše in Czech). It seeks links among particular quantitative and qualitative population characteristics. Main research directions of population and settlement geography are outlined in the conclusion.

Thirty-seven taxa of Teloschistaceae were identified from samples collected in continental areas of Turkey. Based on previous studies, Caloplaca cerina, C. crenulatella, C. ferrarii, C. haematites and C. variabilis are considered here as heterogeneous taxa. Some poorly characterised lichens were determined with the support of their ITS nrDNA sequences. According to Blast searches, examined samples resembling C. albopruinosa and C. alociza do not group with any known taxa of Caloplaca with endolithic thallus and without anthraquinones.

We estimate a financial stress index for the Czech Republic and examine its development during
the 2002–2014 period. We find a marked increase in financial stress at the beginning of the global
financial crisis with a  decrease to nearly pre-crisis levels by the  end of  our study period. Next,
we estimate vector autoregression models of the Czech economy and find that financial stress
has systematic effects on output, prices and interest rates, with the maximum response occurring
approximately one and a  half years after the  shock. Specifically, an  increase in  financial stress
is associated with higher unemployment, lower prices and lower interest rates, indicating its
detrimental effects on the real economy.
