CEP GA16-15569S GA ČR - Grantová agentura ČR Institucionální podpora FZU-D - RVO:68378271 Anotace LuAG activated with Ce3+ or Pr3+ is well-known scintillator with favorable properties like stable crystal growth, good mechanical and chemical stability, high density (6,7g.cm-3) and effective atomic number (63) and absence of thermal quenching to 500 K. Performance of this material is degraded by shallow electron traps, originated in frequently occurring anti-site defects, that cause deceleration of its response and decrease of light yield. In this work we present a method that enables acceleration of scintillator response based on codoping. Such a modification may reduce time needed for signal readout and thus increase rate of detection of scintillator detector. In these manner, we report effect of introducing Ho3+ into LuAG:Pr3+ single crystal grown by micro-pulling down method with the main focus on timing and light output properties.
