A complete series of up to one hundred scans were carried out and averaged to obtain a satisfactory signal-to-noise ratio with a resolution of 0.02 cm−1, providing a detailed and high-quality representation of the xenon spectra. All existing observations of atomic Xe (1318 lines of which 111 are observed in this work for the first time) were included into the optimization procedure. As a result, we obtain an updated system of Xe I levels.
