Metodologii této disciplíny aplikuje na byzantskou eucharistickou bohoslužbu kolem roku 1000 a pokouší se skrze interpretaci nejvýznamnějších písemných pramenů, archeologických objektů a uměleckých artefaktů evokovat čtenáři smyslový zážitek z liturgie, jaký mohl mít její účastník. Stať představuje liturgický obřad jako performativní aktivitu spojenou s tělesným vnímáním celebrantů i shromážděného lidu, aktivitu, zasahuje celé vtělené bytí komunity věřících, protože je oslovuje nejen skrze racionálně vnímatelnou textovou složku, ale zasahuje stejně silně i jejich tělesné receptory. Liturgie vytváří komplexní soustavu fyzických počitků, jejichž prostřednictvím osmyslňuje význam liturgického konání a ve výsledku vytváří jedinečný časoprostor tzv. hierotopie, jehož ústředním bodem se stává přijetí eucharistie, tedy okamžik nejintimnějšího duchovního i fyzického spojení přijímajícího s Bohem. Překlad anotace The article presents the Byzantine liturgy around the year 1000, applying the methodology of the sensorial studies. The paper attempts at reconstructing the sensory experience of the Byzantine participant at a liturgy, exploring the evidence of literature, archaeology and art. The liturgical ceremony is presented as a performative activity connected with the bodily perception, both of the celebrants and the gathered people. It is an activity affecting the whole embodied being of every participant, because it addresses the members of the community not only through a rationally perceptible textual component, but the effect of the non-textual components of the liturgy on the bodily receptors of the participants is equally important, more so because the impact of the bodily sensations is direct and unmediated. The liturgy thus creates a complex system of physical sensations that performs the meaning of liturgical action to the whole body-mind of every member of the community. As a result a unique space-time is created, the hierotopy, in which the members of the congregation experience both physical and spiritual unity. The central point of the hierotopy is the consummation of the Eucharist, the moment of the most intimate spiritual and physical connection with God.
