Although white matter dysfunction and myelin impairment seem to play important role in pathophysiology of SCZ, the potential sex differences in this regard have to be elucidated. It is accepted that SCZ may originate from abnormal brain development that only becomes evident in adulthood, thus we assessed if the behavioral changes mimicking SCZ phenotype in both sexes are paralleled with alterations in white matter structures and myelin in a neurodevelopmental animal model of SCZ.
