Namely, it can be car crash, earthquake or the effect of explosion. For these cases, it is useful to know the dynamic mechanical properties of building materials. The paper presents two unique procedures for instrumented impact testing of building materials (concrete and sandstone). These tests may help in practice with selection of suitable materials for buildings and structures which may be threatened by dynamic effects of mechanical stresses. The method how to achieve a higher dynamic material stability is also presented.
