This corridor remains an active strike-slip shear zone, and therefore the most important earthquake risk-zone in the Slovakian portion of the Western Carpathians. Presented hypothesis is confirmed by preliminary paleomagnetic data, deep seismic sections, magnetotelluric and gravity data.
