As a new approach, nanofibers prepared from gelatin, PA6/12, PAN, PCL, PLA and PUR using industrial scale needleless technology have been introduced as potential cell carriers and evaluated in vitro using human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSC) and mouse limbal stem cells (mLSC). A viability assay as well as immunocytochemical examination revealed that hMSC as well as mLSC adhered, grew and proliferated on all tested nanofibers. This study confirmed that examined nanofibers have a promising potential for biomedical applications such as scaffolds for cell transfer in tissue regeneration.
