Překlad anotace The work focuses on the Russian home history in the years 1724-1743. This period belongs to the least investigated in the historiography. Besides, its interpretations are influenced by numerous stereotypes. The whole epoch is traditionally connected with the government of citizens that supposedly caused political and economic decline of the country. Through the study of the development of the Russian Academy, founded in 1724, the author tries to describe the complicated inner situation of the country, the relations between the prominent representants of the state, as well as the relationships within the Academy. The work aspires to ascertain the influence of the Academy to the political affairs, its position within the frame of the Tsarist administrative, its agenda, personal matters, relations of foreigners and Russians (the Academy of Sciences belonged to the institutions where in the period under study the foreignes predominated and the Russians were clearly in minority). Of crucial importance was the impact of the Academy upon the „modernization“ of the country that reflected also in the scientific research of Siberia. The results of the academic expeditions to Siberia enriched many branches of science, among others history, ethnology, linguistics, botany and zoology. The work is based upon the research of archival sources preserved in Moscow and St. Petersburg, and also on the published sources of personal and institutional character and the relevant secondary literature.
