In this contribution will be used both alumina and zirconia micro-fibres to help eliminate drying defects in the green body stage before sintering. The co-deposition of ceramic fibres and powder with the targeted final creation of homogenous crack free ceramic material using EPD is unexplored field from the processing, microstructure and as well properties point of view. The alumina powder reinforced with zirconia microfibers will be explored in green state and as well after sintering. The influence of fibres in the matrix before and after sintering will be described. The micro fibre presence in the matrix effect on the crack propagation will be described. Also the effect of processing parameters mainly the effect of method of fibre homogenisation within the powder suspension prior EPD deposition will be shown. The positive influence of addition of microfibers on the development of processing defect was also observed. The influence of presence micro-fibre in the microstructure on the basic mechanical properties and comparison with materials prepared without micro-fibres will be demonstrated. The indentation technique will be used as a tool for crack patterns formation and crack propagation will be describe in detail for both the fibre reinforced composites and laminates created from layers of alternating alumina and zirconia based composites.
