The aim of this work is the simulation of air flow in human vocal folds during phonation. The compressible Navier-Stokes equations written in the ALE form, equipped with initial and boundary conditions, are discretized by the discontinuous Galerkin finite element method. The deformation of an elastic body, caused by aeroelastic forces, is described by the dynamical elasticity equations. This system is discretized with the aid of the conforming finite element method. The coupling of the flow and elastic structures is carried out via transmission conditions on a common part of the boundary. The developed method is applied to the simulation of flow induced vibtrations of vocal folds during phonation. The result of numerical experiments are presented.
