We have found that LTA is endowed with immunostimulatory properties, the expression of which depends on its bacterial source. It has been demonstrated LTA shows positive response in Limulus amoebocyte assay (LAL), mimicking thus lipopolysaccharide (LPS) of Gram-negative bacteria.
