The prevalence of p53 overexpression in the tumor was 36% and of any p53 mutation was 15%. Overexpression of p53 was positively associated with the presence of any p53 mutation. Any p53 mutation and missense mutations were associated with breast cancer-specific and all-cause mortality. These associations however did not remain after adjusting for estrogen/progesterone receptor status.
