Stať je věnována výzdobě kaple sv. Františka z Assisi v bývalém kostele irských františkánů v Praze na Novém Městě. Objednavatelem výzdoby byli Václav Vojtěch ze Šternberka a jeho dva bratři. Na výzdobě se podíleli Giacomo Tencalla jako autor nástěnných maleb a Karel Škréta mladší jako autor oltářního obrazu.

The article is devoted to the decoration of the Chapel of St. Francis of Assisi in the former church of Irish Franciscans in Prague – New Town. The patrons of chapel and its decoration were Wenzel Adalbert of Sternberg and his two brothers. The decoration was accomplished by Giacomo Tencalla, who executed the wall paintings, and Karel Škréta II, who was the author of the altarpiece.
