V logice čtrnáctého století vznikl žánr De scire et dubitare, v rámci nějž se řešily různé druhy epistemických sofismat. Jedním z problémů řešených v tomto kontextu byl tzv. axiom pozitivní introspekce. Studie rozpracovává zakládající výzkum Ivana Boha rozšířením korpusu textů a zkoumáním nových souvislostí, které to umožňuje. Jádrem studie je analýza pozic Williama Heytesburyho a Johna Wyclifa a jejich recepce u Petra z Mantovy a Jana z Holandska.

Fourteenth-century logic gave rise to the genre De scire et dubitare, which offered a unified framework for discussing different forms of epistemic sophisms. One of the problems introduced in this context was the so-called axiom of positive introspection. The study elaborates on Boh’s seminal works by extending the corpus of texts and drawing new connections based on that. The core of the survey consists of an analysis of the positions of William Heytesbury and John Wyclif and their reception by Peter of Mantua, John of Holland and others.
