Jahrhunderts festgemacht. Překlad anotace This chapter from a volume on European printing culture in the baroque period provides an overview over the Lands of the Bohemian Crown (Bohemia, Moravia, Silesia) from cca. 1600 to the 1770ties. After highlighting some paradigmatic changes in the historiography of the subject, chapter 2 presents the religious and political contexts of book and printing culture around 1620, the confessional division of book culture during counter-reformation into catholic printers at home and the non-catholic book culture in the exile. Chapter 3 offers a prosopographic view on important families in printing business and discusses the mobility of companies, printing in smaller towns vs. capitals and hebrew printing culture. Chapter 4 highlights the book as a means of secular and religious representation. This includes the object itself as well as large book collections and libraries of monarsteries and noblemen (e.g. Franz Anton Spork). From the middle of the 18th century on, typographical changes as well as the rise of a broad bourgeois book culture indicate the end of the baroque period.
