Jedná se tedy o významné „kolbiště“, kde se po staletí střetávají i míjejí různé výklady islámu. In this regard, the practices of most Muslims clearly contradict the statements of the normative Islam. Despite the centuries of Islamic jurists' effort to submit existing manners and customs to the Islamic law, we can argue that nowhere in Islam the gap between the normative and the popular religiosity reached such depth. Such contradictions were manifested throughout the Islamic history and we can still observe controversies around the graves all over the Islamic world. The question of graves and their visitation repeatedly becomes the “battlefield” among followers of different Islamic streams, not only the Salafis and Sufis.
