Anotace
Publikace pojednává o formování moderního ruského státu a o jeho proměnách v 18. století. Vnitropolitické dění je zasazeno do mezinárodních souvislostí, zejména těch, na nichž se Rusko v 18. století aktivně podílelo. Řešeny jsou především otázky, nakolik byly změny, které se v Rusku 18. století odehrály, skutečně projevem politické modernizace, zda v nich lze identifikovat návaznost na předchozí období a nakolik změny v 18. století byly základem pro další vývoj Ruska v 19. a 20. století. Jde tedy o otázku kontinuity či diskontinuity ruských dějin. Výklad je provázen informacemi o širších kulturních a civilizačních souvislostech s důrazem na pravoslavně náboženský faktor.

The publication Chapters of the Russian History in 18th Century. Genesis and Evolution of the Russian Empire deals with the formation of modern Russian state and with its changes in the 18th century. The home affairs are set into international context, in particular as concerns the issues in which Russia in 18th century took an active part. Above all, there are discussed the following questions: to what degree were the changes which took place in Russia in 18th century, an expression of political modernisation indeed, whether it is possible to indentify in them an interrelationship with the preceding eras, and to what degree the changes in the 18th century served as the basis for further development of Russia in 19th and 20th centuries. Henceforth, it is a question of continuity or discontinuity of Russian history. The exposition is accompanied with information of larger cultural and civilisational correlations, with emphasis on the factor of Orthodox religion.
