In this work we have focused on the thermal properties of selected members of an homologous series of alkyltriethylammonium bis(trifluoromethyl)sulfonylimide ionic liquids (abbr. [NR, 222][Tf2N], R = 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 14). Their phase and glass transitions, as well as their standard isobaric heat capacity at 298.15 K have been studied using the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), whereas their decomposition temperature was determined by the thermal gravimetry analysis (TGA). Basing ourselves on the data obtained in this and previous work, we discuss the influence of the structure of the studied ionic liquids on the measured properties, their fragility and their potential as energy storage media.
