The history of meteorological observations is described. Based on metadata of 14 meteorological stations, homogenisation of their temperature and precipitation series is done. Homogenised series, together with new calculated mean series for the Czech Republic, are analysed further from point of view of their spatio-temporal variability, cyclicity, relationships to circulation indices and climate forcings.
