This article presents the results of the modulation effect of 17 newly synthesized steroids on NMDA receptors. Especial attention has been devoted to the detailed description of the mechanism of this modulation. We concluded that the steroids access the binding sites on the NMDA receptor by accumulating in the plasmatic membrane
