Anotace
Different thickeners have viscosity and rheology properties, which make them usefully to application in specific cosmetic products. By example of five hydrocolloids is demonstrated that simple rheology investigations can be used to gain the knowledge of a viscosity dependence on important processing and environmental parameters and may be helpful for cosmetic formulator to selection an optimal hydrocolloid for a certain product. Aqueous gels based on three types of Acrylic Acid polymers (Carbopol 940, Carbopol Ultrez 10 and Carbopol ETD2001) and two biopolymers - Xanthan Gum (Keltrol F) and Guar Gum (Frimulsion BM) have been investigated on their thickening efficiency, flow and viscosity behaviour, thermostability. All of the measured results have been interpreted in a practical manner for cosmetic and personal care applications.
