Anotace
The article compares the existing situation of the iconological research on the famous enigmatic theme. It tries to bring several new iconographic and iconological notes, to sum up the present knowledge and to confirm the current readings of the Guercino's painting revising the original Panofsky's interpretation. Guercino's panting is interpreted as a cryptic christological subject-matter.
