    AnotaceVon Anfang an konzentrierte sich die Tätigkeit der Arbeitsgruppe auf die unmittlebar an der Staatsgrenze zu Deutschalnd gelegenen Kreise. Es handelt sich hierbei in der Mehrzahl um Gebiete, in denen es in der Nachkriegszeit zu einem vollständigen bzw.gravierenden Bevölkerungsaustausch und infolgedessen zu einer Diskontinuität der Populationsentwicklung und Besiedlung gekommen war. Auf theoretischem Gebiet ist die Arbeitsgruppe in Ústí nad Labem darum bemüht, ein Gesamtbild des Phänomens Grenzraum zu arbeiten.
    Překlad anotaceSince 1990 the Pohraničí (Borderland) working group in Ústí nad Labem, a branch of the Institute of Sociology of the Prague Academy of Sciences, has been researching development of social processes within the border regions along the frontier between the Czech Republic and Germany. It is an interdisciplinary body, and it cooperates with numerous research institutions in the Federal Republic of Germany and in other countries as well. The research is aimed on structural development compared with neighbouring regions in Saxonia and Bavaria.
