Práce pojednává o fungování Viktuální komise pražských měst na počátku 18. století, jejímž hlavním úkolem bylo stanovování cen nejvýznamnějších životních potřeb v Praze. Komise byla složena ze zástupců Starého Města, Nového Města a Malé Strany a hejtmanů těchto měst a pravidelně zasedala čtyřikrát do roka. Jejím nadřízeným orgánem byla Vrchní viktuální komise působící v rámci místodržitelství. Celý systém stanovování cen byl velmi nepružný, což se silně projevovalo zejména v době krizí. V nepokojných čtyřicátých letech 18. století se celý systém definitivně zhroutil.

Study deals with function of the Victual commission of Prague towns at the beginning of 18th century. Main function of the Commission was to assign prices of the most significant and basic necessaries of life in Prague. Members of the Commission were delegates of Old Town, New Town and Lesser Town of Prague and captains of these cities. Commission made a session four times a year. Its superior authority was Supreme Victual commission, which worked under the governor office. The system of providing price of goods was not flexible enough, that was clearly visible in the time of crisis. In uneasy years in the middle of 18th century the whole system collapsed once for all.
