Anotace
Tobacco plants infected with the potato virus Y (PVY) were studied in stage of acute-infection. The key enzymes of glycolytic pathway, their coarse/fine regulation and the content of corresponding intermediates were monitored. The activities of the key enzymes of glycolytic pathway (6-phosphofructokinase, fructosebisphosphatase, and puruvate kinase) did not differ from the activities found in healthy control tissues. The content of ATP was higher in virus-infected tissues when compared with healthy control. The ADP and AMP contents decreased soon after inoculation, but increased at the end of experimental period. The content of Pi was not influenced by infection. No difference in adenylate energy charge (AEC) was observed between healthy and virus-infected tissues. This implies that the rate of glycolytic pathway 'in vivoö is not altered during the acute stage of infection.
