Anotace
Rok 1945 byl pro Československo jedním z důležitých mezníků v jeho historii. Znamenal vítězství nad nacistickým Německem, konec jedné totality, totality německé okupační moci. Rok 1945 však nebyl rokem vzniku nové totality, přes zjevnou hegemonii komunistické politiky, která začínala prorůstat státním aparátem, tu vznikla parlamentní demokracie, byť jistě měla daleko k ideálu demokracie.

For Czechoslovakia, 1945 was a milestone. It meant victory over Nazi Germany and the end of the totalitarian German occupation of the Bohemian Lands. 1945 was however not the year that the new totalitarian regime emerged, despite the clear hegemony of Communist policy, which began to permeate the civil service, a parliamentary democracy emerged here, though, admittedly, it was a long way from an ideal democracy.
