PT - Portugalsko Klíč. slova Hyla spp. Vědní obor RIV EG - Zoologie CEZ AV0Z50450515 - UZFG-Y (2005-2011) Anotace The study provides the so far most completed synthesis of knowledge of relationships among populations and species of all Western Palearctic tree frogs across the European continent – from Canary Islands and Morocco across Europe east- and southward as far as Iran and Yemen, respectively. All five recognized species have been found monophyletic using phylogenetic analysis of mitochondrial and nuclear genes, although we found deep genetic divergences in several species, which indicate an existence of cryptic taxa. Segments of male advertisement calls have probably shortened during the tree frogs’ evolution, as we can infer from the phylogenetic reconstruction.
