Centrální oblast přemyslovské domény byla v poslední čtvrtině 9. a první polovině 10. stol. ohniskem, z něhož se křesťanství šířilo do celých Čech. Se záměrem hledat odpověď na otázku, jak se postup christianizace projevil, bylo v této oblasti vybráno devět kvalitně publikovaných pohřebišť, která poskytla průřez společenskými vrstvami od členů knížecí družiny přes obyvatele hradišť i podhradí až po venkovany. Srovnání jevů, v archeologické literatuře tradičně vykládaných jako projevy křesťanství, ukázalo, že se na jednotlivých pohřebištích liší, avšak spíše jen v detailech, jejich chronologickým rámcem zůstává 10. století.

The central area of the Přemyslid domain was the focal point from which Christianity spread throughout Bohemia in the last quarter of the 9th and the first half of the 10th century. With the intention of seeking an answer to the question of how the process of Christianization manifested itself, nine well-published burial sites were selected in this area, which provided a cross-section of social strata, from the members of the princely retinue through the inhabitants of hillforts and the settlements below them to the rural population. A comparison of phenomena traditionally interpreted in the archaeological literature as expressions of Christianity showed that they differed from site to site but only in details, with the 10th century remaining their chronological framework.
