Překlad anotace Czech historiography only slowly turns its interest to the study of religious life of lower social classes, the industrial and craft workers representing a dominant part of the society from the mid-19th century. Even less attention is paid to heterodox religious currents and their reception among the factory workers. However, the history of smaller religious groups and religious communities on the border of orthodoxy and heterodoxy is not only an elusive phenomenon, it has its importance and analytical value. That is why this paper focuses on the spiritualism among industrial workers in Czech lands, more precisely in the Ostrava region, which was the centre of Austro-Hungarian, and later Czechoslovak, heavy industry.
