The research has shown that this was a unique and little known type of aristocratic library that was somewhere on the dividing line between a purely intellectual collection and a prestige library. The author also attempts, on the basis of the library’s acquisitions and reader preferences, to decipher the previously unknown intellectual horizons of its owner.
