This configuration, also called optical conveyor belt (OCB), enables directed and controlled motion of many such particles arranged into a linear chain with well-separated distances between them. We have observed a significant increase in the delivery speed of the whole structure as the number of particles in the chain increased and we have also quantified the contributions to this speed enhancement coming from the optical and hydrodynamical interactions between the particles.
